Location Based Numbers

Purpose

Use this form to provision Directory Numbers (DN) for services or destinations considered to be location-based, such as Emergency (911), Directory Assistance (411), Security, Help Desk, etc.

When these numbers are dialed, the system performs Location Based Call Routing and the call is routed to the appropriate service located in the same network zone (Network Zones) as the call originating device.

Location Based Numbers

Enter a 1- to 7-digit Location-Based Number (LBN). Valid digits are: 1-9, *, #.

Default Prefix

Enter a 1- to 7-digit Default Prefix for Location Based Call Routing use. Valid digits are: 1-9, *, #. In most cases, this field is configured with an Automatic Route Selection (ARS) digit string, but any other dialable string is valid.

This field is optional. It can be configured instead of configuring an LBN Prefix for each zone in the Network Zones form.

If this field is configured, all LBN calls are routed to the same destination, regardless of the zone from which the call originated.
